Due Friday October 29 - Your assignment is to compose an original sonnet. It can be Petrarchan, English (Spenserian or Shakespearian), or a hybrid version. Along with your sonnet you need to write a narrative explication containing the following information:
- What is the occasion for your sonnet? (i.e., is it a love poem? a prayer? a question/answer? a problem/solution? Etc.)
- Why did you choose the particular sonnet form that you used?
- What rhyme scheme have you employed? Have you used perfect iambic pentameter or are there any metric variations? If so, why?
