Frankenstein Reading Schedule

For Friday 3/12 – Read Mary Shelley’s Intro. and Letters I-V.

For Monday 3/15 – Read chapters 1-8 (pp 14-61). Come to class prepared with a narrative summary of the reading (does NOT have to be in complete sentences) and a list of any unfamiliar words defined in context.

For Tuesday 3/16 – Read chapters 9-12 (pp 61-81) Come to class prepared with a narrative summary of the reading (does NOT have to be in complete sentences) and a list of any unfamiliar words defined in context.

For Monday 3/22 – Read chapters 13-24 (pp 81-166…the rest of the book!). You will have reading questions over these chapters to complete during the college trip and weekend. I will collect these on Monday!

Read the bio/background information on Wordsworth (pp734-35) and "Lines Composed a Few Miles Above Tintern Abbey" (pp 736-741)

HW for Thursday 2/10

Read all of the material on Blake, as well as "The Tyger" and "The Lamb," pp 718-723, and answer questions 1, 2, 3, 7, 8, 11, and 12 on p 724.

HW for Tuesday 2/9

Read the introductory essay to the Romantic Period on pp 706-717.

Week 23 Itinerary

Class-time this week will be devoted to the film Mona Lisa smile, concluding with a Paideia seminar on Friday in the conference room.

Outside of class, you need read the remaining selections in Reflecting on the Literary Period, pp 651-681. I will collect answers to questions 1-5 on p. 682 next Monday 2/8.
